On the 7th of November we celebrated our annual Graduation and Awards Ceremony with more celebrations than ever to mark the fantastic achievements from Team Heathrow colleagues this year. The evening was hosted by Chris Garton, Heathrow Airport COO, Paula Stannett, Chief People Officer and joined by our guest speaker Reggie Nelson.
With more than 80 graduates, the ceremony focused on the outstanding success of this years’ apprentices and the wonderful Team Heathrow employers who support them and recognise the value of Apprenticeships. Not to mention, we celebrated Heathrow signing the Care Leaver Covenant; a commitment to government to provide a tailored package of training and guidance to prepare a care leaver for the world of work. So far, we have helped support 8 young people to gain either employment or an apprenticeship. Heathrow also celebrated responding to the Skills Taskforce recommendations by launching the Skills Partnership and the ‘Heathrow World of Work’ which supports the agenda of building a skills legacy.
The People Leadership Forum (PLF) celebrated new milestones of strategic partnerships with community organisations, including Disability Employment Advisors. The PLF works in partnership to create an agile, diverse; inclusive and skilled workforce that has access to quality careers, employment and training opportunities.
