Last week Rachel, one of our Heathrow colleagues, attended the APPG on apprenticeships event to represent Heathrow and share her story of completing at Apprenticeship.
Rachel completed a Business Administration, Level 2 Apprenticeship whilst on maternity leave and shared the inspirational message to MP’s of “it doesn’t matter where you find yourself in life, it’s never too late to take on an Apprenticeship”.
What Rachel took away most from this experience was the changing attitude towards Apprenticeships, explaining “It was really great to be able to see that the government are trying to understand Apprenticeships a little better to promote them within schools so that younger people know their options.”
After sharing her inspirational story, Rachel was introduced to Lord Young of Norwood Green who “asked If I had ever thought about talking in schools about Apprenticeships and gave me some relevant contacts.”
Looking back on her Apprenticeship journey, Rachel admits “I honestly feel really proud of my Apprenticeship and of Heathrow for giving me this chance. The event was such a great experience.”
