About The Role

Dyer & Butler are presently seeking to recruit a Assistant Project Manager (APM) to work for their successful Mechanical Electrical Building Fabric (MEBF) Team, within their Aviation Division; predominantly based at Heathrow Airport. Working as part of a dynamic team on various tendered Projects and a Maintenance Framework; delivering to 2/3 MEBF projects.
 
As an APM for Dyer & Butler, you will be managing primarily electrical projects from planning stage through to final accounts. Reporting to a Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

Working airside in a safety critical environment.
Management of permits and using client’s management platforms.
Attending site visits and helping to compile scoping documentation.
Site supervision and management
Supervising labour and staff
Producing site safety, environmental and quality documentation
Site cost/value control
Assist in compiling and reviewing estimates.
Programming
Assist with commercial reporting.
Liaising with key stakeholders around the airport.
Organising plant & materials
Engagement and management of key supply chain subcontractors.
Management of design process and design reviews, both in-house and using third part designers.
Due to the nature of our project work you may, occasionally, be required to work a night shift. 
Owns tasks, and can work autonomously.

About You

Qualifying Criteria: 
Previous experience of delivering electrical projects as part of a team.
You may currently be working as an APM for an Electrical Contracting Company or you may be a Site Supervisor/Project Engineer looking to take the next step.
Ideally Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), with a successful track record managing projects
Project management & delivery experience within a safety critical environment.
Aviation experience.
Fully conversant with safety regulations (particularly CDM)
Experience of planning and implementing a safe system of work.
A good commercial understanding and some experience of NEC Contracts (or similar).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate the people working with you
CSCS Card
SMSTS Qualified
Full Clean Driving License
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Proven ability to lead small teams and manage subcontractors.
Desire to develop and progress.

Desirable:
Mechanical knowledge
Building fabric knowledge
Experience of working under the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 18th Edition.
Heathrow Airport experience.
Framework experience – long-term client relationships.
