A leading provider in the automation sector is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of baggage handling and civils/MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) work packages on large-scale airport projects. The Site Manager will play a key role within the site management structure, ensuring installation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project timelines and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large, complex baggage or automation projects, with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive a culture of continuous improvement and safety on site.
Key Responsibilities
The Site Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of project construction activities. Responsibilities include:

Developing comprehensive site installation plans in collaboration with the Project Manager, including cost estimates, timelines, and resource planning

Monitoring installation performance across quality, schedule, and budget parameters, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes

Leading and mentoring a team of senior site supervisors and wider project personnel to deliver high-quality installation outputs
-
Managing stakeholder relationships and maintaining clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams
-
Overseeing contracts with Electrical & Mechanical subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards
-
Ensuring all activities adhere to the Vanderlande Process Map, while identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency

Promoting a strong “Stay Safe” culture across all site operations and ensuring consistent compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
-
Preparing and managing logistics plans, assessing installation readiness, and coordinating the handover process to commissioning teams

Supporting commissioning and testing teams through to final handover to the client
Additional Duties Include:

Managing inspections and testing of electromechanical systems and field wiring

Leading safety inspections, power-up procedures, and static mechanical inspections

Managing logistics of incoming materials and ensuring proper documentation

Collaborating on HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) planning and collecting HSE plans from subcontractors

Contributing to the development and maintenance of master schedules, lookahead plans, and installation files
-
Coordinating with supply centres, including requesting quotes and managing supply chain-related sales requests
