Vanderlande is a global leader in logistics process automation, delivering advanced solutions to airports, parcel networks, and distribution centres worldwide. Their UK Engineering team is now seeking a Controls Engineer to join a high-performing, international group of over 1,000 engineers.

The Role
As a Controls Engineer at Vanderlande, you will work on end-to-end project delivery, from supporting the sales phase through to commissioning and integration. You will design and configure control systems, execute testing, and ensure seamless integration across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Translate “as sold” functionality into detailed designs and working control solutions, ensuring compliance and budget alignment.

Advise Project Leaders and Managers on technical solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary engineering problems.

Develop detailed LLC code (e.g., Siemens S7) and configure control systems.

Build, test, and commission systems, including I/O, cabinet functionality, safety, capacity, and performance testing.

Execute integration activities across areas, third-party equipment, and SCADA systems.

Create project documentation, test/validation plans (FAT, SAT), and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines.

Deliver in-house and on-site testing, supporting integration and customer acceptance.

Produce detailed LLC planning and progress reporting aligned to overall project milestones.
